FAQs (of Economics Tuition)

Question: How do I make payment?

Group Economics Tuition Lessons

For group lessons, students are encouraged to attend the first lesson, risk free. The fees will only be collected on the second lesson. The fees are collected for every 5 lessons or collected on a per-term basis.

Receipts will be issued to students as proof of payment.

Private Individual Economics Tuition Lessons

For individual lessons, the tuition fees will only be collected after every 4 lessons.

For the first 4 lessons, the Agency will only receive commission for completion of the first 2 lessons. The student/parent shall forward 40% of the tuition fees of the 2 lessons to the agency. The Economics home tutor shall receive the remaining 60% at the end of the 4th lesson.

ALL the fees for subsequently lessons from the 5th lesson accrues to the home tutor.

Example: The Economics home tuition teacher charges $120 /hr. At the end of the 2nd lesson, the Agency claims 40% of the tuition fees of the 2 lessons as Agency commission.

Per hour: 120

Per lesson: 240

2 lessons: 480

Therefore, Agency commission is 40% of 480 = $192.

(Terms are negotiable for individual tuition lessons.)

Important Note: In the unlikely event that the student/parent is dissatisfied with the tutor's performance and wishes to terminate the tuition services at the end of the first lesson, the Agency in this case receives NO commission. 100% of the first lesson fees is accrued to the Economics home tutor.

(There is no free trial for individual home tuition.)

Question: What are the tuition fees and rates?

Our rates are very affordable and very competitive. For instance, our group rates range from $30 to $45 per hour. The difference depends on when you or your child joins the lessons. The earlier you join, the lower the rate.

There's also a very small one-time administrative fee.

Question: What do you mean by your first lesson being RISK-FREE?

Any student can attend any of our group lessons and classes on a risk free basis. By this, we mean that you can come for the first lesson literally without any risk, because we won't be collecting any fees during the first lesson.

In the very unlikely event that we do not add value to your revision at all, naturally you are disappointed, and would like to stop all future lessons.

We do not object. In fact, we do not even ask you to pay a single cent. That means, if after the risk free (first) lesson, you wish to discontinue the second and all future lessons, the first lesson is not charged. Hence, the meaning risk-free.

However, should you continue to attend any lessons in future, the first lesson is considered well done, and we will ask for the fees for the first lesson too. (Note: this applies at all times within 24 months of the date of the first risk-free lesson.)

Who Else Wants An 'A' for the 2010 A-Level Economics H1 Paper?

Testimonials:

As a student, I have always enjoyed Economics, however, I have never been able to pass the subject.

During the June holidays, I decided to look for help for my upcoming mid-year exams.

When Mr Tan first spoke with me on the phone, i was doubtful and apprehensive when he said
that he could guarantee that I would score an A in any Econs exam so long as i followed his Economics exam skills, strategies and methods for essays and case studies.

True enough, in 5 lessons Mr Tan has liberated my fear of the economics paper and I saw for myself how easy
it is to excel in the subject.

With the new found sense of confidence in econs, the paper i used to
dread the most, has become my best subject.

Mr Tan is an experienced Economics tutor who knows what markers want and are looking for.

His methods will be able to transform even the weakest students, to A graders in the shortest time possible! :)

A. Tan
Nanyang Junior College (NYJC), 2009 JC1, H2 Economics

Mr Tan really know his stuff about the new A-Level  Economics exam requirements.

It took me so long to realise that re-writing and summarising my notes over and over again will not help.

Fortunately, I went to his class early enough to eventually secure my distinction. At last, my chance for my favourite scholarship is born.

H2 Economics

I was receiving tuition at another centre for about $700 a month! But my Econs grades were not improving.

Then, I went to Mr Tan's class at Bishan. To my surprise, it was very productive, from the very first lesson!

I like the way he deciphered the case study paper, so that I actually knew and could pre-empt what questions can appear in the actual exam!

Please keep up the good work on A-Level Economics, Mr Tan!
